Government officials should not serve for more than 5 years – Chief Advisor

Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has said that it is not right for government officials to serve for more than five years. He said, “Then their minds become fixed. Creativity is destroyed. Every institution should start anew after 10 years. Because even though the goals change with time, the people of that institution remain stuck with old ideas and concepts.” The Chief Advisor said these things at a program organized at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center on Wednesday (January 28) afternoon.
He said, “It is like a slave system. The government should help entrepreneurs become entrepreneurs.” The Chief Advisor said that “Just as the July Movement opened the door to new possibilities in the country’s politics, the Digital Device and Innovation Expo will open the door to new possibilities in the information technology sector. The workers of the July Movement will one day lead the world. The protests that started after the internet shutdown in the July Uprising led to the fall of a strong government.”
Dr. Yunus said, ‘The digital sector is currently the main sector. Because change will come from here. All other sectors will be affected by this sector.’ The chief advisor said, ‘Bangladesh has become the best in terms of fraud. As a result, its image abroad has been damaged. If we want to do well in technology, then we have to stop this fraud. We want to walk with Bangladesh with our heads held high. We have that power.’
