11 killed in shooting at soccer field in Mexico
At least 11 people were killed in a horrific shooting at a soccer field in Mexico. Another 12 were injured in the horrific incident. US media outlet CBS News reported this information in a report on Tuesday (January 27).
Last Sunday (January 25), locals were attacked after a soccer match in the city of Salamanca, Guanajuato province. Witnesses said that at least 100 rounds of gunfire were heard at that time. Some gunmen who arrived in multiple vehicles opened fire indiscriminately on spectators. Many people, including women and children, were killed. The cause of the horrific attack is not yet known.
Local authorities said that 11 people had been confirmed dead. Of these, 10 died on the spot and one died while undergoing treatment in hospital. It was also said that 12 people who were injured in the shooting are currently undergoing treatment.
An investigation committee has been formed to investigate the incident. The incident came a day before a series of violent attacks in the city, in which 5 people were killed and 1 person was kidnapped. Recently, the number of gangs has increased in the province. These organizations are carrying out various terrorist activities, including murder and drug trafficking.
