The joy of a wedding turned to sorrow in an instant. At least 5 people were killed in a bomb blast in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to Reuters reports. The incident took place in the city of Dera Ismail Khan on Friday (January 23) evening. 10 more were seriously injured. They are undergoing treatment in hospital.
The wedding ceremony was taking place at the house of Noor Alam Mehsud, head of the Dera Ismail Khan Peace Committee. The organization also includes surrendered Taliban members. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Recently, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan-TTP has increased its activity in the region. The militant organization has been named in several consecutive attacks. Pakistan accuses Afghanistan of supporting the TTP. Afghanistan denies the allegations. It claims that security issues are Pakistan’s internal matter.
