Geo News: Pakistan to boycott World Cup if Bangladesh doesn’t play

ICC has given Bangladesh 24 hours to decide – during this period it has to inform the world cricket governing body whether Bangladesh will go to India to play the World Cup or not! Amid BCB’s concerns over the T20 World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board may take a big step.
The country’s media outlet Geo News reported that Pakistan may also boycott the tournament if Bangladesh’s matches are not moved from India. A PCB official told the media about this possibility.
However, Bangladesh lost a vote by the full ICC member countries yesterday demanding a change of venue. Out of the 15 countries, only Pakistan feels that Bangladesh players are not safe in India. However, the ICC has decided to play in India due to the loss.
The Bangladesh government has expressed security concerns due to threats from extremist Hindu organizations in India. They wanted to shift the games from the country to Sri Lanka for this reason. However, in the end, it did not happen due to the vote. Today, the BCB is meeting cricketers to take a final decision on the World Cup issue. A final decision may come only after that.
However, warnings of Pakistan boycotting the World Cup in support of Bangladesh were also published earlier. But later it did not come true. If the Geo News report is correct, then there will be immense pressure on the ICC to organize the World Cup.
