Why did Netanyahu ask America not to attack Iran?
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked US President Donald Trump not to attack Iran. The influential Washington Post reported that Netanyahu made this request because Iran did not have sufficient strength and readiness to repel a counterattack.
Iran had threatened to retaliate against Israel and US bases in the Middle East if they were attacked. A US official told the Washington Post that the main reason for not attacking Iran last week was their lack of sufficient military equipment in the Middle East. In particular, they did not have the ability to repel an Iranian counterattack at that time. Occupying Israel
is largely dependent on America to prevent an Iranian attack. US defense systems worked to repel the ballistic missiles that Iran fired at Israel during the 12-day war in June last year.
The media also reported that last Wednesday, Trump’s advisers assumed that the attack would begin at any time. But it did not happen. The Washington Post also claimed that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sent a text message to Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, which also cooled the situation somewhat.
