Jamaat-e-Islami-led 11-party alliance press conference postponed
The press conference called by the Jamaat-e-Islami-led 11-party alliance on the seat agreement for the upcoming 13th National Parliament election has been postponed. Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General and alliance coordinator Hamidur Rahman Azad confirmed this information on Wednesday (January 14).
The press conference was scheduled to be held at 4:30 pm today at the Muktijoddha Hall (second floor) of the Diploma Engineers Institution in the capital. Top leaders of the 11 parties were supposed to be present there. However, Hamidur Rahman Azad said around noon that the press conference has been postponed due to unavoidable reasons.
On the other hand, whether the Islamic Movement Bangladesh will remain in the Jamaat-e-Islami-led alliance will be known in the Islamic Movement’s Majlish-e-Shura meeting at 3 pm today. The party will take a decision on the matter in that meeting. The party’s next steps will be decided based on this decision, said the party’s Secretary General Principal Maulana Yunus Ahmed.
