Cold wave may increase again from tomorrow

A cold wave is blowing in Panchagarh today. The cold wave that has been going on for more than 10 days has spread to the coldest regions today. The minimum temperature in the capital has decreased slightly today. The Meteorological Department has said that the cold wave may increase again from tomorrow. A new cold wave may start in the northern and western parts of the country. The Meteorological Department confirmed this information on Wednesday (January 14) morning.
It said that today, the country’s lowest temperature was recorded in Tentulia in Panchagarh at 8 degrees Celsius. Yesterday, Tuesday, the country’s lowest temperature was recorded at 7.5 degrees Celsius. The country’s lowest temperature has been recorded in Tentulia for seven consecutive days. Last Monday, the country’s lowest temperature was recorded here at 8.4 degrees Celsius. Last Sunday, the lowest temperature was recorded there at 7.3 degrees Celsius.
When the minimum temperature in an area is 8.1 to 10 degrees Celsius, it is called a mild cold wave. When the temperature is 6.1 to 8 degrees Celsius, it is called a moderate cold wave. When the temperature is 4.1 to 6 degrees Celsius, it is considered a severe cold wave. And when the temperature drops below 4 degrees Celsius, it is called a very severe cold wave.
The Meteorological Department had said in its long-term forecast earlier this month that five cold waves could arrive this month. One of them could be a severe cold wave. Cold waves have been blowing in different parts of the country since almost the beginning of this January. The cold wave has been decreasing for the last four days. However, the temperature in the country may start decreasing again from tomorrow, senior meteorologist of the Meteorological Department Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallick told us today that the temperature in the northern and western regions may decrease by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius from tomorrow. This may continue until next Saturday. Then the temperature may increase again.
After increasing yesterday, the minimum temperature in Dhaka has decreased again today. Today, the temperature in the capital was recorded at 15.6 degrees Celsius.
