A boy was born after 10 girls in Haryana, the father does not remember the names of the girls
A woman from Haryana, India, has given birth to a boy after giving birth to 10 girls. After 19 years of continuous pregnancy, the 37-year-old woman has finally given birth to a boy. This has raised questions about the preference for boys in some parts of the country. On January 4, Sanjay Kumar’s wife gave birth to a boy at a private hospital in Jind district of Haryana. Later, she was discharged from the hospital and returned to her village in Fatehabad district.
The hospital doctor said that the delivery was quite risky. The mother had to donate three units of blood. However, the mother and the newborn are healthy. In an interview with Indian news agency PTI, the child’s father Sanjay Kumar said, “We wanted a boy this time. My elder daughter was also expecting her younger brother.”
Sanjay Kumar got married in 2007. Most of his 10 daughters now go to school. He says his eldest daughter Sarina is now studying in class 12. Despite his limited income, Sanjay is trying to educate all his children. “I am happy with what God has given me,” he said.
The birth of a boy after 10 girls has been the subject of discussion and criticism on social media ever since the incident broke. Many have pointed fingers at the patriarchal attitudes and gender inequality in the region. However, Sanjay does not want to see the matter that way. Sanjay says that today girls are capable of achieving anything. They have set an example of success in various fields.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Sanjay is seen struggling to name his 10 daughters, leaving viewers shocked. Gender inequality in Haryana has long been a major concern in India. Although there has been some improvement in this regard in recent years.
