8 lakh taka fine for illegally cutting soil from agricultural land
A person named Swapan Kabiraj has been fined 8 lakh taka for illegally cutting soil from agricultural land in Raipur, Laxmipur. The mobile court imposed the fine on Tuesday (January 6) night in the Charbangshi area of Uttar Charbangshi Union. Raipur Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Mehedi Hasan Kausar conducted the mobile court. Raipur Thana Police assisted in this.
Upazila administration sources said that the mobile court conducted drives in various places in Uttar Charbangshi Union for the crime of illegally cutting soil from agricultural land. During the drive, a person named Swapan Kabiraj has been fined 8 lakh taka for illegally cutting soil from agricultural land under the Balumhola and Soil Management Act.
Raipur Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Mehedi Hasan Kausar said that the fine has been collected from the convicted person. The upazila administration is working to prevent soil erosion in agricultural lands. Strict action will be taken against those who cut the soil. This campaign will continue in the public interest.
