Massacre by shutting down the internet: Hearing against Joy and Palak adjourned until Sunday
The International Crimes Tribunal-1 has adjourned the hearing of the state’s charge sheet against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s IT advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy and ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak in the case of massacre by shutting down the internet during the July 2024 movement until Sunday (January 11).
In this, 3 specific charges have been brought against Joy and Palak. It is said that during the movement, the two hid information about the massacre by shutting down the internet and social media through mobile phone conversations. At the same time, they spread information about burning the internet lines and blamed students for it.
Junaid Ahmed Palak has been arrested in this case. And considering the charges, the court has issued an arrest warrant against Sajeeb Wazed Joy. The state will fight for the absconding Sajeeb Wazed Joy. Meanwhile, Tribunal-2 will record testimony against Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub ul Alam Hanif in a case of crimes against humanity, including the murder of six people in Kushtia.
