Businessman beaten up in JOCSU elections
A businessman was beaten up on charges of ‘election engineering’ in the Jagannath University Central Students’ Union (JOCSU) elections. A businessman named Nazrul Islam was beaten up by some students at the main gate of the university on Tuesday (January 6) morning.
It was seen at the scene that some students chased him. Later, when he tried to escape, some people caught him and beat him up. Later, the police rescued him from there. An associate of Nazrul Islam said, Nazrul and I were going to our shop in Banglabazar. Suddenly, some people saw him and started beating him up for no reason, calling him an old man.
Meanwhile, several students in the crowd said that the person who came to the main gate of the university and ‘attempted election engineering’ was beaten up. However, no explanation was found in the students’ words about what ‘election engineering’ meant and how he did it.
