Khaleda Zia is going through a critical period: Dr. Zahid
The physical condition of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment at the capital’s Evercare Hospital, is very critical. She is currently going through a critical period, said Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, a member of the medical board formed for her treatment and a member of the BNP standing committee.
He said these things at a briefing in front of the capital’s Evercare Hospital at around 12:30 am on Saturday (December 27). When asked about Khaleda Zia’s latest condition, Dr. Zahid Hossain said that her condition cannot be said to have improved. Rather, her physical condition is still very critical.
He further said that Begum Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital on November 23. When her physical condition deteriorated after admission, she was first transferred from the cabin to the CCU and later to the ICU. The member of the medical board said that local and foreign specialist doctors are engaged in the treatment of the BNP Chairperson. Her daughter-in-law Dr. Zubaida Rahman is also involved in the treatment process. This briefing was held in front of the hospital without any prior announcement.
Meanwhile, after various programs throughout the day yesterday, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman went to the hospital again to see his mother Khaleda Zia. He stayed there for more than two hours and left the hospital at 11:58 pm. Earlier, even after returning home last Thursday, he went to the hospital to see his mother.
Khaleda Zia has been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital since November 23. Her treatment is being supervised by a medical board consisting of local and foreign experts led by Professor Shahabuddin Talukder. It is worth noting that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is suffering from various complex diseases including diabetes, kidney, heart and lung diseases. She is undergoing physical examinations as part of her regular treatment.
