5 killed in clash in Hatiya, Noakhali, anger over no case yet
No case has been filed yet in the case of 5 people killed in a clash between two parties over char occupation in Hatiya, Noakhali. Meanwhile, the bodies have been kept at the Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. The situation is tense in various areas around the clash site today, Wednesday (December 24).
Locals said that the government has not yet made any settlement for the land of Jagla Char, which rises in the chest of the Meghna. The dispute between the Alauddin Bahini of Sukhchar Union and the Shamchu Bahini of Jahazmara Union over the occupation of char land has been going on for several months. Several clashes have also occurred. As a result, the two sides got involved in a clash yesterday Tuesday morning. There was also an incident of firing. Later, the police recovered the bodies of five people. Several people were injured.
Saiful Alam, officer-in-charge of Hatiya Police Station, told us that the police are currently at the scene to deal with any kind of undesirable situation. However, no case has been filed in this incident yet.
