4 vehicles collide on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway

Due to dense fog, 4 vehicles lost control and collided head-on on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Sirajdikhan, Munshiganj. The accident occurred at around 7:30 am on Wednesday (December 24) at the Kuchiamora College Gate area of ​​the highway. It is reported that 3 passenger buses and 1 covered van collided this morning. Hansara Highway Police confirmed that several passengers were injured in the incident.
According to police and local sources, 3 buses hit a covered van from behind due to dense fog in the Kuchiamora area. On receiving the information, members of the Hansara Highway Police quickly reached the spot and started rescue operations. Although traffic on the expressway was closed for about 15 minutes after the accident, the situation normalized after the police quickly removed the damaged vehicles.
Hansara Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) ATM Mahmudul Haque confirmed the matter and told us, “The main reason for this accident is the reckless speed of vehicles in the fog and the lack of caution of drivers. Currently, traffic movement on the highway is normal.” Meanwhile, the Highway Police has advised drivers to be more careful and reduce speed in foggy weather to avoid accidents.
