More than 50 injured in clash between two parties in Habiganj

More than 50 people were injured in a clash between two parties over dominance and land dispute in Nabiganj, Habiganj. The incident took place in Mandarkandi village of the upazila on Monday (December 22) afternoon. Locals said that Muhith Mia has a long-standing dispute with Abdul Hai and Samu of the village. As a result, people from both sides got involved in a clash with local weapons. The clash lasted for about two hours.
On receiving the information, the police and the army went to the spot and brought the situation under control. The injured were rescued and taken to various hospitals. Tension prevailed in the area after the clash. Additional police have been deployed. Officials said that work is underway to bring those involved in the clash under the law.
