BNP supports Junaid Al Habib in Rumin Farhana’s seat

BNP has reached a seat agreement with Jamiat Ulema-e-Bangladesh before the upcoming 13th National Parliament election. As part of this, BNP is giving up four of its seats. This means that BNP will not have any candidates in these seats.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the seat agreement with Jamiat Ulema-e-Bangladesh at a press conference at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan, the capital, on Tuesday (December 23) afternoon.
Among the seats for which the agreement has been reached to give up are Jamiat Ulema-e-Bangladesh Ameer Ubaidullah Faruk in Sylhet-5, party Secretary General Manjurul Islam Afendi in Nilphamari-1, Junaid Al Habib in Brahmanbaria-2 and Monir Hossain Qasemi in Narayanganj-4.
Former MP and BNP’s international affairs associate secretary Rumin Farhana had earlier expressed interest in contesting from Brahmanbaria-2 (Sarail-Ashuganj) constituency. She recently hinted at contesting as an independent candidate if she does not get the party nomination.
