Ishraq expresses regret over viral video

BNP nominated candidate for Dhaka-6 constituency Engineer Ishraq Hossain has expressed regret over the unfortunate incident of being trampled while paying homage at the tomb of BNP founder former President Ziaur Rahman. He made the announcement in a post on his verified Facebook page.
Ishraq Hossain wrote, “I express my gratitude to Almighty Allah for being elected as the convener of ‘Bangladesh Nationalist Liberation Generation’ and seek blessings from everyone. We will go to the tomb of martyred President Ziaur Rahman with the members of the newly formed committee (yesterday, Monday, December 22) and recite Fateha.”
He said that BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed was present as the chief guest at the event and Muktijoddha Dal President Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat was the special guest. Ishraq wrote, “As per the previous plan, it was decided that the convener and member secretary of the newly formed Generation Committee would stand on both sides of the chief guest and special guest during the tribute, which would be published in the media later.” Due to the huge interest and public gathering of leaders and workers in the entire program, I had to take a somewhat strict stance while scheduling the sequence.
He wrote, “As the convener, it is my responsibility to implement the instructions of the central leaders and ensure their comfort and safety. Therefore, if anyone is present at the scene or has seen the video circulated on social media and feels any mental anguish, I sincerely apologize.” Ishraq wrote, “Currently, the ‘Generation of Liberation’ organization has a great responsibility. On the one hand, to raise awareness and present to the new generation the real glorious history of the Liberation War, which was marred by looters and genocidal criminals, and on the other hand, to strictly curb the arrogance of those who have not yet accepted the Liberation War, who have not yet accepted the independence of Bangladesh from their hearts.” In time, the truth will be revealed and justice will be ensured, InshaAllah.
