Workers’ Power leader Motaleb Sikder injured in gunshot wound
Motaleb Sikder, the central organizer of Khulna’s Workers’ Power, was shot in the head. He has been admitted to Khulna Medical College in a serious condition. The incident took place around noon today, Monday (December 22). Motaleb Sikder is the son of Moslem Sikder of Sheikhpara area of the city. Doctors said that he is out of danger.
Police and family members said that at around 11 am, passersby rescued Motaleb Sikder from Sonadanga area of the city with gunshot wounds and admitted him to Khulna Medical College Hospital. He received primary treatment in the dressing room of the hospital’s surgery ward. He was shot on the left side of his head. Upon receiving the news, family members, administration officials, law enforcement officers and party leaders and activists came to the hospital. No one could confirm in which area he was attacked.
