30 bodies of a family recovered from the rubble of Gaza
Members of the Civil Defense Force in the valley have recovered the remains of 30 members of a family from the rubble of the main Palestinian city of Gaza City. This information was published in a report by Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency, citing officials from the Civil Defense Force in Gaza. Meanwhile, the officials said that the family members lived in the Al Rimal area of Gaza City. Incidentally, they were killed in an Israeli bomb attack on December 19, 2023. The officials also said that according to the information they have, 60 members of the family were killed during the Hamas-Israeli conflict that began on October 7, 2023. The bodies or remains of the remaining 30 people have not yet been found.
It should be noted that on October 7, 2023, fighters from Hamas, the armed political group that controls the Gaza Strip, entered Israeli territory and attacked, killing 1,200 people. In addition, 250 people were taken hostage. The day after this incident, on October 8, Israeli forces began their operation in Gaza. In that operation, hundreds of homes, hospitals, schools, shops, shelters and service centers were bombed in various residential areas of Gaza. Due to the bombardment, many people’s bodies were buried under the rubble and it was not possible to rescue them in wartime conditions.
Then, on October 10, 2025, two months after the ceasefire in Gaza, the Gaza Civil Defense Force began rescue operations in the rubble since December. This is the first time that the remains of so many members of a family have been found from the rubble since the rescue operations began. It is worth noting that at least 70,700 Palestinians have been killed and more than 170,000 people have been injured in the past 2 years of the Hamas-Israeli conflict in Gaza. It is reported that most of the dead and injured are women and children.
