Fire in Keraniganj building not under control even after 6 hours

A terrible fire broke out in a 10-storey building in Keraniganj, the capital Dhaka. It was not brought under control even after almost 6 hours. However, the fire service has so far rescued 45 people who were trapped. The fire started on the ground floor of Jabale Noor Supermarket in Aganagar area of Keraniganj at around 5 am today (December 13). Within moments, the fire spread to the entire building. This spread panic throughout the area.
According to the fire service, up to the 8th floor of the 10-storey building is being used as a residential building. The owner of the building is Haji Noor Alam. It is being alleged that the building was built without permission from RAJUK and the building does not have a valid clearance.
The most worrying thing is that the building does not have adequate fire extinguishing or fire extinguishing systems. Which makes the situation more risky after a fire breaks out. Earlier, Fire Service and Civil Defense Media Officer Anwarul Islam said, “A total of 12 units of the Fire Service are working to control the fire. Two more units joined later.”
