Seven killed in fresh Gaza strikes, Rafah border partially reopened

Israeli forces in Gaza have killed seven Palestinians, including two children, in a violation of a US-backed ceasefire and announced the partial reopening of the Rafah border crossing, which will be used only for people.
The incident came after Hamas claimed on Wednesday (December 3) that four Israeli soldiers were wounded in a rocket attack south of Rafah. Rafah is located on the border with Gaza and Egypt.
Medics said that Israeli strikes killed two Palestinians in the Zaitoun area of northern Gaza city and five others in the al-Mawasi camp to the south. The bomb attack in al-Mawasi set fire to several tents.
Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal said: “Five civilians were killed in the Israeli missile attack, including two children.” Several others were wounded in the attack, some of them seriously.
A Kuwaiti hospital source said the two children killed were aged eight and ten. Thirty-two Palestinians were also injured. The Palestinian Wafa news agency reported that some of the injured suffered serious burns.
Hamas’s al-Mawasi condemned the attack as a “war crime” and said it was evidence of Israel’s “disrespect for the ceasefire agreement.” It called on mediators Egypt, Qatar and the United States to rein in the Israeli army.
According to Gaza authorities, Israeli forces have violated the ceasefire at least 591 times since it came into effect on October 10. At least 360 Palestinians have been killed and 922 wounded so far.
