Reza Kibria joins BNP

Reza Kibria, son of former Finance Minister Shah AMS Kibria, the founding convener of the People’s Rights Council, has joined the BNP. He officially joined the BNP at the political office of the BNP Chairperson in Gulshan in the capital on Monday (December 1). BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed were present at the time.
It is worth noting that Reza Kibria contested the 11th National Parliament election in 2018 as a candidate of BNP’s alliance partner Jatiya Oikya Front from Habiganj-1 constituency under the symbol of paddy sheaf. Before the 2018 parliamentary election, Reza Kibria joined the People’s Forum; later he became the party’s general secretary. Later, the party split into two groups around him. After that, Reza Kibria formed the People’s Rights Council with former DUCSU VP Nurul Haque Nur. He served as the convener there. However, even there the party split into two.
