Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed has said that the law and order situation will be controlled by dividing the entire country into three zones – red, yellow and green – during the national elections. He made this statement after a meeting between the Election Commission and Commonwealth representatives at the Election Commission Bhaban on Sunday (November 23) morning.
Akhtar Ahmed said that the Commonwealth delegation is optimistic about the preparation of the commission to organize fair elections. The 13th National Parliament elections will be held in February next year. Scheduled for the first week of December. Election winds are blowing across the country. A 6-member Commonwealth delegation went to the Election Bhaban in Agargaon in the morning to talk about election preparations and cooperation. The organization’s Secretary General Shirley Bachoui was present.
Later, they met Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin. After an hour-long meeting, Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed said that the Commonwealth considers the referendum as an additional responsibility and challenge. They expressed satisfaction with the overall preparations. The Commonwealth delegation was also briefed on the law and order situation and preparations for the elections. The Election Commission said that the Commonwealth believes that the participation of foreign observers in the elections will enhance the credibility. However, no decision has been taken yet on sending their delegation.
