Ukraine to deliver $105 million more in US weapons

Ukraine has asked the United States for Tomahawk cruise missiles. But US President Donald Trump does not want to give them. Meanwhile, the US administration has given possible approval to the sale of Patriot air defense systems and related equipment. Anadolu Agency and AFP reported. The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency said on Tuesday (November 18) that the US State Department would deliver weapons worth up to $105 million to Ukraine.
The statement said the package includes upgrading Ukraine’s M901 launchers to the modern M903 version, inventory for ground support equipment, spare parts, training and other logistical and program support.
The US said the deal would help it meet its foreign policy goals. Ukraine is increasingly relying on the US-made defense system to counter daily Russian missile and drone attacks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that several more Patriot systems had recently arrived in Ukraine and were being activated. Of course, Kiev had asked the US for 2,500-kilometer-range Tomahawk cruise missiles. But Trump has made it clear that he is not thinking about that.
Since Russia invaded in February 2022, the amount of US military aid to Ukraine has reached about $67 billion. Despite Trump’s calls for a long-term ceasefire, Russia has rejected calls for a ceasefire and continues to attack Ukraine.
