Bodies of a grandmother and her grandchildren recovered in Khulna
A grandmother and her grandchildren were brutally murdered in Khulna. Police recovered their bodies from the chicken farm of a house in the city’s Luanchhara area on Sunday (November 16) night. The deceased were identified as Mahidunnesa (55), wife of Abdul Hannan of Darvesh Gali, next to the culvert of the Mukta Commissioner’s office in Luanchhara area, Mahidunnesa’s grandson Mustakim (8) and granddaughter Fatiha (6).
The police could not initially say anything about the cause of the murder. According to local sources and police sources, locals found Mahidunnesa’s body in the chicken farm of a house next to Darvesh Gali, next to the culvert of the Mukta Commissioner’s office in the city’s Luanchhara police station at around 9 pm yesterday. The bodies of Mustakim and Fatiha were next to her. All three had injury marks on their bodies.
While the name of Mohidunnesa’s husband was immediately known, the names of the father and mother of the deceased children were not known. However, it is initially known that the mother of the two children works as a clerk at the Bagerhat Sub-Registry Office and the father is an employee of the Khulna Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Salt Lake Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hawlader Sanwar Hossain Masum told us, “Three bodies have been recovered and sent to the morgue. It is not possible to give details right now. We will inform you after receiving the information. We are trying to find out the reason for the murder.”
