‘Suspicious’ teenager arrested from Dhanmondi 32
The police have arrested a ‘suspicious’ teenager from the capital’s Dhanmondi 32 area. He was arrested at around 10:15 am today, Thursday (November 13). Senior Assistant Police Commissioner of Dhanmondi region Shah Mostafa Tarikuzzaman confirmed the matter.
According to police information, the arrested teenager is 14 years old. His home is in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh. At the scene, the teenager was seen wearing pants, a coat and a tie and had a bag with him. He was later taken away in a police van.
Police officer Shah Mostafa Tarikuzzaman said that the teenager’s behavior was suspicious and his statements were also confusing. He sometimes introduced himself as a student, sometimes as a Chhatra Dal, sometimes as a Chhatra Shibir worker.
He also said that looking at the documents and other evidence found in the teenager’s bag, it seems that he is associated with the banned organization Chhatra League. It is worth noting that law enforcement agencies have taken a tough stance to prevent the Awami League from announcing a ‘Dhaka lockdown’ online today. Orders have been issued to arrest anyone suspected of attempting sabotage.
