Hasina’s statement on setting buses on fire two years ago trolled
A statement by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was ousted in a student-public uprising, has gone viral on social media. The viral statement is, ‘If someone tries to set a bus on fire, then throw him into the fire.’
In another viral video, the ousted former Prime Minister can be heard saying, ‘I have a request to you, if someone tries to set a car on fire like this and burn people’s lives, then burn that hand in the fire.’
Hasina has given a strong statement against fire terrorism. Now her party is committing fire terrorism. For the past few days, the fascist party Awami League has been setting buses on fire in various places including Dhaka. That is why users are trolling Hasina on social media for that statement.
Incidentally, she made this statement at a memorial meeting organized by the Bangladesh Awami League on the occasion of Jail Murder Day at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital on November 12, 2023.
On that day, Sheikh Hasina told the leaders and activists of the Awami League and all the associate organizations that no one should get away with blockade and arson. If anyone is caught red-handed while setting fire, they should be immediately thrown into the fire, their hands should be burned. The hands with which they set fire should be burned. Then they will be straight, otherwise they will not be straight. Because, as they are, so they should be.
She also said that resistance should be built against arsonists in every area. They should be found and brought under the law. And people’s lives and property should be protected. This is the responsibility of the Awami League. We have nothing else, we have no elders. The people of the country are our everything.
