‘Bangladesh cannot run on the orders of any outside leader’
Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, secretary of the Dhaka Metropolitan South Division of Jamaat, said, ‘No worker in Bangladesh can run on the orders of any outside leader. Some are now saying that if your leader wanted, he could have seized state power on August 5. Your leader does not feel safe in the country till now. How will they seize state power?’
He made this comment after a brief public meeting and roadshow from the Baufal Upazila square adjacent to Banglabazar in Nazirpur Union to the office of the Baufal Upazila branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at around 11:30 am today, Wednesday (November 12).
Shafiqul Islam Masud said, ‘They are still asking for security from your party, they are asking for bulletproof vehicles. We think that Jamaat-e-Islami will stand in the face of bullets by providing security to the 180 million people of Bangladesh. The people of Baufal will make us victorious by voting for Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, the symbol of justice and fairness, and we will continue the activities we have started in the future.’
He said, ‘Today I was asked if you have any competitors in Baufal? I said, this time Jamaat-e-Islami has no competitors in Baufal. We have competition, we want to compete with good work.’
He also said, ‘If someone can do 1 good deed, then the competition of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is that we will compete with him by doing 5 good deeds. If someone tries to stop our good work, then we will continue our social welfare work with our sweat and blood.’ The program was attended by Baufal Upazila Jamaat Amir Maulana Ishaq, Naib Amir Maulana Rafiqul Islam, Secretary Professor Khaledur Rahman, Shibir President Limon Hossain, Baufal Unnayan Forum Secretary Kamruzzaman Kajal, Baufal Foundation Secretary Advocate Abul Kashem and media personnel.
