Another ASI beaten up by colleague ASI

An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Dhobaura Police Station in Mymensingh has beaten up another ASI for submitting a challan on behalf of the accused.
The incident took place inside the police station on Monday (November 10) at around 11 am. The injured ASI was later admitted to the Dhobaura Upazila Health Complex. He is undergoing treatment there. The accused ASI is named Md. Sharif Ahmed and the injured ASI is named Sharif Hossain.
It was learned at the scene today (November 11) that an argument broke out between ASI Delwar and ASI Sharif yesterday at 11 am inside the Dhobaura Police Station over the submission of the accused’s challan. At one point, Sharif got angry and hit Delwar on the head and neck with a steel concrete stick, seriously injuring him. Later, his colleagues quickly rescued him and admitted him to the Dhobaura Upazila Health Complex. He is currently undergoing treatment. When asked about this, the on-duty doctor Dr. Masud Rana said, “There are injury marks and blue swelling on his neck.” The injured Delwar Hossain said, “I did not understand that he (Sharif) would beat me like this. When I tried to stop him, two others were injured.” The accused Sharif Ahmed was called several times on his mobile phone, but he did not pick up. Witnesses who did not want to be named said that they were injured while trying to stop him. In this regard, Dhobaura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Al Mamun Sarkar said, he was outside the police station. He will investigate the matter and inform later.
