New Deputy Commissioner in Gazipur Azad Jahan
The government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners in 15 districts of the country including Gazipur at midnight. Among them, Md. Azad Jahan has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Magistrate in Gazipur. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard at midnight on Saturday (November 8). On the same day, the current Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur Nafisa Arefin has been transferred to the Secondary and Higher Education Department as Deputy Secretary.
According to sources in the Ministry of Public Administration, on the instructions of the President, in a notification signed by Aminul Islam, Deputy Secretary of the Field Administration-2 Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration, Bhola District Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Azad Jahan has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur district. It is learned that he is an officer of the 25th batch of BCS (Administration) cadre. He has been serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Bhola since September 12 last year.
Earlier, he served as the Executive Officer of Mirpur in Kushtia and Alamdanga in Chuadanga, Deputy Director of the Local Government Department of the Panchagarh Deputy Commissioner’s Office, and Deputy Secretary of the Statistics and Information Management Department. The new Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur, Md. Azad Jahan, has graduated and completed his master’s degree in English from the Islamic University. It is worth mentioning that he was born in Harinakundu Upazila of Jhenaidah district.
