Fugitive accused in 57 cases arrested at Sylhet Airport
A long-time fugitive and convicted accused in 57 cases, Mohammad Ruhul Amin (55), has been arrested in a drive by Patia Police Station in Chittagong. He was arrested from the Sylhet Airport area on Saturday (November 1) night. The arrested Ruhul Amin is the son of Abdus Salam of Pirol area of Patia Upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patia Police Station Md. Nuruzzaman and Investigation OC Yujutsu Yash Chakma told us that he was arrested from the Sylhet Airport area last night with the help of Sylhet Airport Police. There are 57 cases against him in various police stations. There are arrest warrants in 32 cases including 27 CR, one GR and 4 CR sentence warrants in Patia Police Station.
In addition, 19 CR and 6 sentence warrants are pending against him at CMP Kotwali Police Station. There are multiple arrest warrants in various police stations. Investigations are underway to determine if there are any other cases and interrogations are underway. They also said that after interrogation, they will be sent to prison through the court.
