Sarwar Tushar reveals reason for not giving ‘Shapla’ to NCP

National Citizens’ Party (NCP) joint convener Sarwar Tushar said, the boat has sunk, now the Shapla will float away. The NCP is not being given the Shapla symbol due to the ‘arrogance’ of the EC and the influence of special parties. The Shapla will be the alternative symbol for the sinking boat. He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the NCP regional coordination meeting at Ambika Memorial Hall in Faridpur city on Friday (October 31) evening.
Sarwar Tushar also said that after the Awami League, the Jatiya Party has done the most damage to the country. Their leader Ershad is now in the grave, the Jatiya Party is also walking the same path. They are agents of India, the people of the country will not accept the efforts being made to establish the Awami League under the banner of the Jatiya Party.
He also said, a ‘big deception’ has been done to the nation in the name of implementing the July Charter. We do not want to see a new Awami League in the country. He also said that an immediate referendum is necessary for the legal recognition of the charter.
Addressing BNP, Sarwar Tushar said, “Is BNP campaigning to not get votes? Even if 30 percent of their votes go to ‘no vote’, the July Charter will be passed by a huge margin. Then they will not be able to show their faces in the mirror. They have not learned anything from the past. Their leader Ziaur Rahman organized ‘yes’ and ‘no’ votes before the presidential election. But today BNP is opposing that ‘yes-no’ vote. If they oppose the July Charter, then the people will throw them into the Padma in a distorted way.”
NCP’s joint member secretary Nizam Uddin and Faridpur divisional organizer Russell Ahmed also spoke at the meeting held under the chairmanship of NCP’s Faridpur chief coordinator Syeda Neelima Dola. Hundreds of leaders and workers from Faridpur, Rajbari, Madaripur and Shariatpur districts were present at the meeting.
