Amazon may lay off 30,000 employees
World-renowned e-commerce company Amazon may lay off 30,000 employees at once. The company is now considering a large number of employees employed during the Covid pandemic as surplus to requirements. Now they are walking on the path of layoffs to reduce costs.
About 10 percent of the company’s 350,000 corporate employees are losing their jobs. A large part of the list of those laid off to reduce bureaucratic complexity in the workplace includes directors.
This massive layoff program begins today. Amazon has been laying off employees in various departments for the past 2 years. Earlier, in June, Amazon CEO Andy Gesser hinted that the company would gradually take over some of its daily tasks under artificial intelligence.
