Consensus Commission meeting with Chief Advisor after some time

The members of the commission will meet the Chief Advisor and President of the National Consensus Commission, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. It is learnt that the meeting will be held at the State Guest House Jamuna today, Monday (October 27) at 4 pm.
According to the commission sources, the draft recommendations prepared with the Chief Advisor and the commission president on the means of implementing the July National Charter will be discussed in this meeting. Based on the opinion of the President, additions and deletions can be made to the draft recommendations. In that case, a complete recommendation on the means of implementing the July Charter will be prepared and submitted to the government later. On the other hand, if there are no new amendments in the draft, it will be submitted to the government today itself.
According to the commission sources, an order will first be issued regarding the outline of the recommendations that the commission has decided to implement the charter. This order will be issued first under the name of ‘July National Charter (Constitutional Amendment) Implementation Order’ on the basis of the popular uprising. An ordinance regarding the referendum will be issued under it. The referendum will be held on its basis. The next Parliament will function as the Constitutional Reform Council for a specified period (270 days or the first 9 months). During this period, the constitutional reform proposals will be approved by the Parliament. The complete implementation process will be mentioned in the July Charter Implementation Order.
After the order is issued, some parts of it will come into effect immediately and some later. It will be mentioned when which section of the order will come into effect. The 84 reform proposals of the July Charter will be mentioned in the appendix to the order. However, there will be no mention of any dissenting opinion of any party. Only the 84 proposals or decisions of the Commission will be mentioned.
