Some parties are trying to postpone the elections: Mirza Fakhrul

Commenting that an elected government is now needed to take the country forward, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, ‘Some political parties are trying to postpone the elections.’
He said this at the unveiling of a book titled ‘Mahakal Mahanayak Shaheed Zia’ at the Diploma Engineers Institution in the capital on Thursday (October 23).
Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘BNP was born through reforms. Ziaur Rahman introduced multi-party democracy. BNP did everything good in the country. But people talk as if BNP is a villain.’
The BNP Secretary General also said, ‘Ziaur Rahman had an extraordinary ability to attract people. He worked to build the nation. But the Awami League tried to erase his name. People born for a short time cannot be erased so easily. History has caught up with Ziaur Rahman. Tarique Rahman is also walking on the path shown by Ziaur Rahman.
