20 dead, 15 injured in bus fire in India
At least 20 people have died in a bus fire in India. At least 15 people were seriously injured.
The accident occurred on a highway in Rajasthan on Tuesday (October 14) afternoon local time.
According to Indian media reports, the bus was traveling from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur with 57 passengers. Later, after reaching the highway, smoke started coming out of the rear. When the driver stopped on the side of the road, the bus immediately caught fire.
At that time, locals rushed to douse the fire. The injured were rescued and taken to a nearby hospital. Local police said that the fire started due to a short circuit.
On the other hand, the authorities have assured compensation to each of the injured. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the incident.
