Death toll in chemical warehouse fire in Rupnagar rises to 9

Nine people have died so far in a fire at a garment and chemical warehouse in Rupnagar, Mirpur, in the capital. In addition, several people have been burned in the incident.
Talha Bin Jasim, officer-in-charge of the media cell of the Fire Service Headquarters, confirmed this information on Tuesday (October 14).
He said, “Nine people have died so far in the fire. A search team has been sent from the headquarters to investigate the incident. At the moment, we do not have more detailed information about this. Detailed information will be provided later.”
Fire Service Director Lieutenant Colonel (Operations and Maintenance) Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury, who was present at the scene, told reporters that nine bodies have been recovered from the second floor of the burning garment factory.
Meanwhile, 12 units of the Fire Service are currently working to control the fire.
Earlier, the Fire Service received information about the fire at 11:40 am today, Tuesday. Upon receiving the information, the first unit of the fire service arrived at the scene at 11:56 am.
