British Prime Minister Urges Students to Stay Away from Pro-Palestinian Protests
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has urged students to stay away from pro-Palestinian protests. In an opinion piece published in The Times on the second anniversary of the Israeli-Gaza war on October 7, he said that protesting on the day was “not British” because some people were using the day as an “excuse for despicable attacks on British Jews.”
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer added, “Today, on the anniversary of the barbaric attack on October 7, students are planning another demonstration. This is not our character as British people. It is disgraceful to show such disrespect to others. And then some start chanting anti-Semitic slogans again.”
He stressed that the UK would always be “united and strong in defending the Jewish community.”
He added, “Jewish communities living in our country are enduring increasing anti-Semitism on the streets.”
