Gaza-Israel War Marks Two Years
Today, Tuesday (October 7), marks two years of Israeli brutality in the besieged Gaza Strip. On October 7, 2023, the occupation forces launched an attack on the Strip in response to an attack by the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in southern Israel. That attack is still ongoing and the death toll has exceeded 67,000.
Not just air or ground attacks; the occupation forces have been blockaded on the Strip since that day. As a result, Gaza residents are facing severe hunger and famine due to the lack of relief.
On October 7, 2023, Israel launched a devastating attack on Gaza in response to an ambush by the Palestinian Liberation Organization Hamas. The occupation forces have been wreaking havoc in Gaza for 2 years in the name of eliminating Hamas. As a result, the Strip, which is besieged by Palestinians, has become a ruin.
“Israel has been trying to establish control in Gaza for two years, although there are questions about what it has achieved there. In many cases, the capacity of the Iranian-backed resistance network has also been reduced. On the other hand, Tel Aviv is more isolated internationally and regionally than it has been in decades,” said Sanam Wakil, a political analyst at Chatham House.
Human rights groups have long accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza. A UN investigation report released on September 16 also said that “Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.”
Political analyst Sanam Wakil said, “Israel has unleashed the ultimate form of genocide in Gaza. The IDF has inflicted severe physical and psychological harm on Palestinian civilians.
A planned way of life has been imposed there, which threatens their very existence. Israel has taken steps to ethnically destroy the Palestinians.”
The IDF’s continuous attacks have killed more than 67,000 Palestinians in Gaza so far. Nearly 170,000 have been injured. Israel has also attacked Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Qatar in support of the Palestinians.
