13 Awami League leaders and activists arrested, two former MPs on the list
Thirteen Awami League leaders and activists, including two former MPs, have been arrested under the Anti-Terrorism Act. The Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) conducted raids at various places in the capital in the last 24 hours, including day and night, on Sunday (September 28).
The two arrested MPs are former MP from Brahmanbaria-5 constituency Faizur Rahman Badal and former reserved women MP (324) Tamanna Nusrat Bubli.
Confirming the matter, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Media and Public Relations Department of DMP Muhammad Talebur Rahman said that the DB has arrested a total of 13 Awami League leaders and activists, including two former MPs banned under the Anti-Terrorism Act, based on specific allegations and intelligence activities. Legal action against them is under process.
