However, considering the age of the accused, the death sentence has been reduced to life imprisonment. He has also been fined Rs 40 lakh.

What happened
In January 2022, the Lahore Police demanded to unravel the mystery of this murder case.
The deceased in the incident were Lady Health Worker (LHW) Nahid Mubarak (45), her son Taimur Sultan (20), daughter Mahnoor Fatima (15) and younger daughter Jannat (10).
The police claimed that the deceased Nahid’s son Ali Zain (then 14 years old) was addicted to the popular online game PUBG and killed his mother and three siblings under its influence.
Ali also confessed to his crime. He had been playing Zain regularly at his house for a long time. A police officer claimed, “He became mentally disturbed after repeatedly failing at the game.”
On the day of the incident, after playing for hours and failing to hit the target, he entered the house with his mother’s licensed pistol and first shot his mother while she was sleeping. He then shot his two sisters. When his elder brother entered upon hearing the gunshots, Ali shot him too. He then went upstairs to rest and later left the house.
After leaving the house, Ali threw the pistol into a nearby drain and later returned to his house, pretending to be asleep when the incident occurred.
Initially, the police suspected Ali as his behavior was not normal after the incident. After a few days of observation and investigation, he was arrested and finally the charges against him were proven.
