Hasina’s lawyer questions Nahid at tribunal

The state’s lawyer is questioning National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam in a case filed on charges of crimes against humanity committed during the July coup. Earlier, he gave his statement as the 47th witness in the case.
Today, Sunday (September 21), state-appointed lawyer Amir Hossain is questioning Nahid Islam on behalf of fugitive Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal at the International Crimes Tribunal-1.
Apart from Sheikh Hasina, the other two accused in the case are former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun.
Earlier, Nahid Islam, one of the organizers of the July movement, gave his statement last Wednesday and Thursday. After that, the lawyer started questioning him on Thursday. In today’s proceedings, the government witness in the case, Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, was presented before the tribunal.
Earlier, the tribunal ordered the framing of formal charges in the case on July 10. At the same time, the tribunal granted former IGP Mamun’s application to present himself as a witness. So far, 46 witnesses have testified in the case.
