Publicly hacked to death in Shibchar
A young man named Rakib Madbar (24) was hacked to death in Shibchar, Madaripur. The incident took place in front of the United Commercial Bank (UCB) branch in Shibchar Municipal Market around 8 pm last Sunday (September 14). The deceased Rakib was an accused in the Ibne Samad murder case of Sardarkandi area and was recently released on bail. Eyewitnesses said that Rakib Madbar was standing on the side of the road. Suddenly, 5 to 6 miscreants ambushed him with country-made weapons. The attackers hacked him and left him on the road after injuring him. Locals rescued him and admitted him to Shibchar Upazila Health Complex. Later, as his condition was critical, he died on the way to Dhaka. Shibchar Upazila Health Complex doctor Rashidul Islam said that Rakib was brought to the hospital in a serious condition. After primary treatment, he was sent to Dhaka for advanced treatment. But his condition deteriorated and he died on the way. Shibchar Police Station OC Rakibul Islam has dismissed this political rumor. He said, after receiving the news, the police visited the scene. Efforts are underway to identify those involved in the incident. The deceased Rakib Ibne Samad was an accused in the murder case. Initially, it is believed that the murder took place due to past enmity.
