‘Where did my vote go’ – DUCSU candidate alleges at press conference
‘Where did my vote go’ – Md. Sajib Hossain, a resident student of Shahidullah Hall, who is contesting for the post of DUCSU central member, made this allegation at a press conference. At the same press conference, another candidate, Rakib Hossain Gazi, alleged bias against the Election Commission. He was contesting for the post of Health and Environment Secretary from the ‘DUCSU for Change’ panel.
The press conference was held at the Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University today (September 10). At that time, both of them also said that they would file a written complaint with the university administration.
Sajib Hossain alleged that the candidate he voted for for the GS post at the designated Curzon Hall center was not counted. Despite voting according to the rules, his candidate’s results showed zero votes. He demanded that if his vote is canceled, he should be informed and a reasonable reason should be shown.
On the other hand, Rakib Hossain Gazi alleged that the rules were not followed in distributing candidate slips in the election. The commission treated different candidates differently. He also accused a group of being biased in favor of the campaign.
