Taijul becomes first Bangladeshi to play in South Africa’s franchise league

Taijul Islam became the first Bangladeshi to get a team in South Africa’s SA T20 auction. Durban Super Giants surprised everyone by bringing this left-arm spinner to the team for about 35 lakh taka.
Taijul will get stars like Heinrich Klaasen, Jos Buttler, Sunil Narine, Aiden Markram as teammates in this team. This spinner from Natore has played only two T20s for Bangladesh. He has taken 88 wickets in 105 domestic T20 matches.
There were 14 Bangladeshis in the final SA T20 auction. But Shakib, Mustafiz, Liton, Miraz were unsold.
The final SA T20 auction was held in Johannesburg last Tuesday (September 9). 14 Bangladeshi cricketers including Taijul registered there.
They are – Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das, Tanjim Hasan, Tanjid Hasan, Mehedi Hasan, Mehedi Hasan Miraj, Shamim Hossain, Touhid Hridoy, Hasan Mahmud, Zaker Ali, Shariful Islam and Nahid Rana. Mostafizur Rahman was put up for auction but remained unsold.
