Districts including Dhaka to witness 60 kmph winds at night

The Meteorological Office is expecting a maximum wind speed of 60 kmph over 9 districts of the country including Dhaka. The agency has also issued a warning that there may be rain with thunder. This information has been given in a warning issued for the country’s inland river ports until 1 am on Thursday (August 28). The notification signed by meteorologist Shahnaz Sultana said that temporary gusty or squally winds at a speed of 45 to 60 kmph may blow from the southeast or east over Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali and Comilla districts. Along with this, rain or rain with thunder may occur. Therefore, river ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1. Meanwhile, according to another notification from the Meteorological Office, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds are temporarily forecast in all divisions of the country till tomorrow (August 29) morning. Moderate to heavy rain may occur at some places across the country during this time. This trend of thundershowers and heavy rain may continue for the next few days.
