NCP strongly condemns attack on Mahfuz Alam, New York

The National Citizens Party (NCP) has protested and condemned the Awami League attack on Mahfuz Alam, the interim government’s information and broadcasting advisor, at the Bangladesh Consulate office in New York, USA. The organization wants to see a clear position and action from the interim government on this issue. The NCP said this in a press release on Tuesday (August 26). It was mentioned there that the National Citizens Party, NCP, notes with deep concern and anger that fugitive leaders and activists of the genocidal and fascist organization Awami League have attempted to attack Mahfuz Alam, the leader of the July Uprising and the interim government’s information and broadcasting advisor, at the Bangladesh Consulate office in New York, USA. At the same time, they have directly and violently attacked a state institution by vandalizing the consulate office. It is said that by attacking this event organized on the occasion of the anniversary of the July Uprising, the Awami League has once again revealed its fascist, terrorist and mafia character. They have not only denied the July Genocide, but have also continued their terrorist activities internationally. NCP strongly condemns and protests this heinous attack and calls on the interim government and the US government to promptly investigate the attack on the consulate office and take all appropriate legal action against those responsible. The notification further states that the recent attempts to normalize the Peelkhana massacre, Shapla genocide and July Genocide in talk shows, media and social media, the consulate attack, the establishment of the Awami League office in Kolkata and presenting the coup as a ‘conspiracy’ in various forums – we believe that all of this is a continuation of Awami terrorism and part of a larger conspiracy. We further note with concern that although almost 24 hours have passed since the incident, no state protest or action has been taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the interim government on this issue. We would like to see a clear position and action from the interim government on this issue. We call on the US government to identify the Awami League as a ‘terrorist organization’ in view of its violent activities and take necessary legal action. In addition, we call on the Bangladeshi diaspora, the forces of the coup, to present information and evidence of these terrorists to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the US authorities.
