45 percent of newborns deprived of breast milk: Health Advisor

Although 55 percent of newborns born in the country can drink breast milk, 45 percent of newborns are deprived. As a result, the infant mortality rate is increasing every year. Health Advisor Nurjahan Begum gave this information as the chief guest at a seminar organized by the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on the occasion of World Breast Milk Day on Monday (August 25) morning. Children have the right to be able to drink breast milk. She called on everyone to be aware of this issue. Nurjahan Begum asked to be careful that no doctor advises newborns to feed marketed baby food or powdered milk. She also suggested starting daycare in all government and private institutions in the country.
