Naogaon accused sentenced to life imprisonment for raping teenage girl
A court in Naogaon has sentenced a man named Sanaul (38) to life imprisonment in a rape case by holding a child captive. At the same time, he was fined one lakh taka and ordered to undergo six months of rigorous imprisonment in default. The verdict was announced in a crowded court on Sunday (August 24) afternoon. According to court sources, on July 11, 2022, at around 3 pm, accused Sanaul lured a 13-year-old girl from Kadial Bazar in Patnitala Upazila of Naogaon and kidnapped her in an autorickshaw. Later, he rented the house of Muzaffar Rahman in Bhabanipur Dakshinpara of Naogaon Sadar. He kept the girl captive and tortured her for a month there. The victim’s family filed a complaint with Patnitala Police Station in this incident. Based on the complaint, the police rescued the girl from the house. The accused A. Sanaul was arrested. After a long hearing in the case, the court gave this verdict as the truth of the incident was proven. The case was handled by the government prosecutor Advocate Kazi Atiqul Islam. A total of 17 witnesses were taken in the case.
