Saiful, an accused in 11 cases who escaped from Satkhira jail, arrested
RAB has arrested Saiful Islam (26), an accused in 11 cases who escaped from Satkhira district jail. He was arrested from Chaltetola area of Satkhira municipality on Wednesday (August 20) afternoon. Saiful’s house is in Itagachha area of Satkhira municipality. Satkhira RAB camp commander Additional Superintendent of Police Rezaul Karim said that initial investigation revealed that Saiful was interned in Satkhira district jail as an accused in 11 cases including weapons, explosives, and women and child abuse. Saiful escaped from the jail by breaking the lock of the jail gate on the evening of August 5 last year. He has been on the run since then. After his arrest, he was handed over to Satkhira police station.
